Mike ‘Fatboy' Lawless was a serving Police Officer in Swindon. He died in 1999 aged 31 years from Cancer. He had previously worked as a male nurse, at a variety of hospitals including Guy’s Hospital in London.
Mike was a kind and generous bloke who was particularly fond of children, and his family around him.
Upon his death, friends and family established ‘Fatboy’s Useful Cancer Charity Account’ (FUCCA) to raise money for Cancer-related causes, and other worthy recipients.
Over the past four years the Charity has raised over £10,000 . This money is primarily used to purchase Christmas presents for children suffering with cancer, leukaemia, or other serious illness. Donations are also made to cancer-related charities, such as Macmillan, and also donations direct to Cancer Units in hospitals.
Such was the success of the fund raising, that the charity shortened its name to simply ’Fatboy’s’( for the sake of general decency !!) , and obtained formal registration with the Charities commission. http://www.fatboyscharity.co.uk/
